Good to Know
Frequently asked questions.
The questions we are asked most often. If yours is not here, call and ask.
Is laser safe for my skin type?
Yes. The Elite iQ has a built-in melanin reader that checks your skin at the start of each session and sets the treatment to match, so skin tone isn't a barrier here.
Laser Hair Removal
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, and you never will. Every treatment is pay as you go. If you'd like to pay ahead for a course, you save 10%.
Laser Hair Removal
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need 6 to 10. It depends on the area, your hair and your skin, and we'll talk it through at your free consultation.
Laser Hair Removal
Do you treat men?
Regularly. Backs, chests, shoulders and necklines, plus intimate male grooming including the Brozilian.
Laser Hair Removal
Is it affordable?
Yes. Price and compare: we'll beat any competitor's price. We also offer an interest-free payment plan.
Laser Hair Removal
How far apart are the sessions?
Body hair grows in stages, so sessions are spaced to catch each one: every 4 to 6 weeks for some areas, every 12 for others. We'll tell you which at your first visit.
Laser Hair Removal
Is it safe?
Yes. We use the Cynosure Elite iQ, you wear protective eyewear, and we've been doing this for over 24 years.
Laser Hair Removal
Does it hurt?
Most people say it feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin. The laser has a built-in cooling system to keep you comfortable.
Laser Hair Removal
Is there any downtime?
Hardly any. Your skin may look a little red or pink for 20 minutes to an hour. You can put makeup on and go right back to your day.
Laser Hair Removal
What laser do you use?
The Cynosure Elite iQ. It combines two wavelengths, 755nm Alexandrite and 1064nm Nd:YAG, which is how we can treat every skin type quickly and safely.
Laser Hair Removal
Is it really permanent?
Mostly. Most treated follicles stop for good, and the few that come back grow finer and lighter. Hormones, pregnancy or age can also wake up follicles that were never treated, which is why some people come back for a touch-up session every year or two.
Laser Hair Removal
Can I shave between sessions?
Yes, shave as much as you like, and you'll find you need to less and less. What you cannot do is wax, pluck or thread, because that pulls out the root the laser is aiming at.
Laser Hair Removal
What if I have a tan?
Naturally darker skin is no problem at all. The Elite iQ treats every skin tone. A fresh tan or self-tanner is different: come in at your natural color, so give it two weeks clear of both. Otherwise we'd have to go gentler and you'd get less from the session.
Laser Hair Removal
Will it work on blonde or gray hair?
Gray and white hair, no. There's no pigment left for the laser to find. Blonde is often a maybe: a lot of people with blonde hair on their head have darker hair under the arms or on the legs, and that responds well. An easy way to tell is to shave and look closely. If you see tiny dark dots where the hairs were, there's pigment to work with. Anything laser can't reach, electrolysis can, and we do it right here.

Medical Conditions
Confidence is Key
Laser Hair Removal can help with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) hair growth side effects. PCOS has a dramatic effect on the body's natural hormone levels which can cause excessive hair growth. Laser cannot affect the internal hormone levels. However, it can help positively increase your self confidence by reducing the excessive hair growth.
